Background
Inkwell were getting a number of enquiries from people who loved the idea of producing a newsletter but felt either that they didn't have sufficient news to fill the pages or were fledgling businesses that couldn't justify the outlay.
Brief
The brief we set ourselves was to come up with an eye-catching design that had all the impact of a full-size newsletter, but was inexpensive enough for small businesses to undertake. It had to be no more expensive than an average-sized ad in a local paper.
Approach
So we came up with these mini newsletters. No matter how small the business there's always enough going on to fill the 60-Second (one A5 page folded) or the 2-Minute (one A4 page folded). To keep costs down, the responsibility of finding the news and pictures/graphics lies with the host company. But then we copy edit in the style of the client's choosing, make everything fit and arrange printing - and in most cases arrange free delivery!
These bite-sized newsletters have proved that it is not expensive printing and state-of-the-art graphics that has marketing impact - it's well-written and targeted copy sent regularly that customers really respond to.
